Direct CH4 and N2O emissions from the incineration of biofuels (solid and liquid) are based on Austria's National Inventory Report 2024 (UMWELTBUNDESAMT, 2024a) and the IPCC 2006 Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories (IPCC, 2006). Upstream GHG emissions from biofuels are calculated on the basis of the publication Renewable fuels and energy sources in the transport sector 2022 (BMK, 2023).
